THE REVIVAL - Part 1
“When all our enemies heard of it, all the nations around us feared and fell far in their own esteem, for they saw that this work was done by our God” …Nehemiah 6:16.
“What this church need is… “! “I can’t believe our government officials. If I were there I would…”! “Our schools are really in bad shape. Someone ought to do something”! Grippers, complainers, self-proclaimed prophets and ‘armchair quarterbacks’ abound. It is easy to analyze, scrutinize and talk about all the problems in the world. But, what we really need are people who will not just discuss a situation but who will do something about it.
This is where understanding the times we are living in is important and only the Spirit of Wisdom and understanding will help – a prophet to the nations comes in very handy. The 200 leaders from the tribe of Issachar UNDERSTOOD THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES. As a result, their knowledge and judgment provided needed help in making decisions for the nation. King Ahasuerus [Xerxes] had his own wise men, “Then the king spoke to the wise men who knew the times–for this was the king's procedure toward all who were familiar with law and judgment”…Esther 1:13. Like most leaders past and present, the king kept a handful of advisers whom he consulted on almost all matters.
Often, a king’s success rose or fell on the wisdom of these men. Daniel was such an adviser under Darius and Cyrus. He understood the signs of the times… “So this [man] Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian. Daniel 6:28. And before these two, there was Nebuchadnezzar and his son Belshazzar’s – 4 kings. The King’s of Israel all had spiritual advisers. King David had prophet Nathan. While preparing to bring the Ark from Kirjath Jearim, David consulted his Prophet to the Nation… 1 Chronicles 13:1ff, “DAVID CONSULTED the captains of thousands and hundreds, even with every leader. King Saul had prophet Samuel etc. These kings rose but also fell when they ignored counsel from the prophets. The nation of Israel went to exile for ignoring the prophets God sent. Any nation without such counsel is under a curse.
For leaders today, it is equally necessary to know what is happening in society in order to plan the best course of action for the Church. Knowledge of current events, trends and needs helps us understand people’s thoughts and attitudes. This gives leaders information to help them make wise decisions for the Church and make God’s message relevant to people’s lives. David’s Army had men who could understand the signs of the Times, “And of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs; and all their kinsmen were under their command”… 1 Chronicles 12:32.
Kenya is a nation very useful to God at this time. God, through the citizens of this nation put the current president into power against all odds. The President himself acknowledged this fact over and over again. I would like to report that economically, the country is on the right trajectory. The Lord told me that in the next two years – come 2025 – the economic decisions that have been made will come to fruition. But my question is, who among his spiritual advisers is able to understand the signs of the Times. His Exellency President William Ruto is a Rapture President. Who is advising him concerning the times we are living in. Whoever that is, he/she is not doing a very good job up to here. The rebellion in MAANDAMANO was most uncalled for. The rebellion was not political but very spiritual. Did someone even understand the Spirit behind this rebellion. I pray that this leadership will not try to stop the healing revival that is about to hit this land.
The Church and the nations are really hurting. Sickness, diseases, and infirmities, like run-away fire, are unstoppable. Jehovah Rapha will do it again – a healing revival is about to sweep the nations. But this time, it starts with us, here in Kenya, then Africa and to the rest of the world. REVIVAL starts with a vision. Spiritual Renewal is the Holy Spirit’s work and begins with one person’s vision given by God. Often, God uses one person to express the vision and others to turn it into reality. We frequently underestimate people and don’t challenge them with our dreams for God’s work on earth.
Nehemiah had a vision to rebuild the ruins of Jerusalem wall and he shared it with enthusiasm, inspiring Jerusalem leaders to rebuild the walls, “Then I said to them, You see the bad situation we are in–how Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates are burned with fire. Come, let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a disgrace. “Then I told them of the hand of my God which was upon me for good, and also the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, Let us rise up and build! So they strengthened their hands for the good work”… Nehemiah 2:17-18.
In the times of Nehemiah, walls represented power, protection to the cities. They were also desperately needed to protect the Temple from attacks. God put the desire to rebuild the walls in Nehemiah’s heart, giving him the vision for the work. Are there ‘walls’ that need to be built today? When God plants an idea in your mind to accomplish something for Him, share it with others and trust the Holy Spirit to impress them with similar thoughts. Don’t regard yourself as the only one through whom God is working. When you encourage and inspire others, you put teamwork into action.
Jesus and I have tried access in all offices that matter, just to have a one-on-one with the President. We have tried to access the ‘fathers of faith’, the apostles but they all seem busy. What does this tell you? The Church is a sleep. This is why I turned to my blog, just in case someone see it. I have attempted many times to close this blog but the Lord said that He will use it.
Come Lord Jesus!
