KINGDOM AUTHORITY
Kingdom dominion is our inherent priority according to Scripture… Genesis 1:26-28. The priority of the Kingdom of God is the main subject of the Bible. The seminaries, bible schools and the Church have missed the terminology of the Bible – the entire Bible is about one subject - the Kingdom of God. Theology is the study of the people’s opinion of the Bible. Most of the theology today is leading people away from Jesus’ theology. Is what we hear today in the Church what Jesus taught? When you pick up the Bible to read, all we should see is the message of the Kingdom of God in every page. This will help you apply its message to every area of your life; daily bible study, teaching, ministry, your business, your job, your family, at home, parenting practices and your investment. The Kingdom of God is supposed to touch every area of your life.
In Matthew 10:7, Jesus said, “As you go, preach this message, “The Kingdom of Heaven has arrived’. The word ‘near’ means ‘is present’ in Hebrew. Jesus used the word ‘this’ because He knew we would invent our own message. We have faith teaching, prosperity teaching, deliverance teaching, born again teaching, Calvary teaching, the blood teaching… Jesus knew somehow that we would choose what to teach from the Scriptures apart from the message of the Kingdom of God, so He protected Himself by saying ‘this one’. Listen to the power of Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:14, 15, “And this gospel…” Jesus insisted on the word ‘this’ because He knows us; that we like to invent things. It is possible to live a lie all your life. this is why we misunderstand God. We think that satan is our greatest enemy and this is not true. We think the devil will destroy us or is trying to destroy us. This is not our greatest problem. According to the Word of God, our greatest enemy is, “My people are destroyed not because of the devil or demons, or even sin, but because of a lack of knowledge” …Hosea 4:6 My emphasis. Then, the Lord makes it worse and says, “Because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to me; seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children”. He did not say you could not find knowledge but you willfully decided you do not want to know any more.
Jesus said, as you go preach this message of the Kingdom to all nations as a testimony and then the end will come. The end of the world has nothing to do with Bin Laden or earthquakes, an event or war, tsunami or terrorist acts. The end of the world, according to Jesus, depends on a message that you finally catch and teach to the nations; and we can’t find it in our seminaries, universities of theology or even bible schools. We cannot find it the pulpit with our priests and pastors. When was the last time your pastor or man/woman of God preached on the Kingdom of God? This is why the Church should never have another message but that of the Kingdom of God. If you claim to be a missionary to the nations, your message had better be right according to Jesus. Why do you support missionaries? Is their message right? This is because, Muslims have missionaries, Buddhist have missionaries, Hindus have missionaries, Harikrishner have their bald-headed missionaries in the streets, and everybody has got missionaries. Having missionaries is not a big deal…the question is, what is their message? In other words, you shouldn’t finance error.
If you are a missionary, what did you tell the people out there? Wherever there is advancement and prosperity there is openness. Who will preach to nations like China and Japan and what will be their message to these nations? China used to be an empire therefore they understand kingdoms. They like the message of the kingdom but have no one to explain it to them. They never thought the message on Jesus could be associated with the Kingdom of God; so they are now interested. No one wants Christianity but they shall accept the Kingdom message. Why does Jesus talk about the Kingdom? It is because it is the long human search. Every generation is searching for Utopia [the ideal life, the perfect country]. The perfect government is called Utopia. We are searching for a world where everybody is equal, healthy, wealthy and where everybody loves one another, is kind, good and there is no poverty – this is called Utopia. The search is the source of human progress, development, inventions and philosophies.
Normally, when we talk about the Kingdom of God, we think only of what Jesus said about the subject as recorded in the four Gospels. Although it is certainly true that in His life and words Jesus revealed the Kingdom more fully than ever before, they were simply the culmination of all that God had been working toward from the beginning, as was His life in general. Everything God says and does relates to His Kingdom. The entire Bible deals with the Kingdom of God. From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture reveals God as the great and almighty King of heaven and earth resolutely at work on His plan of the ages. See the following verses, “And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation”. These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel… Exodus 19:6. “For the kingdom is the Lord’s, and He rules over the Nations… Psalms 22:28. “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom… Psalm 45:6. “They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and talk of Your power Psalm 145:11. And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will Crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will Itself endure forever… Daniel 2:44.
That plan is to reverse and destroy the works of the devil and fully restore His rule over the earthly realm through His human representatives. We have already said that the Bible is not about religion, But about a Kingdom. Everything centers on the Kingdom Of God. All the saints of the Old Testament recognized this fact. Abraham knew it. Moses knew it. Samuel knew it. David, the king of Israel, knew it. The prophets knew it. Jesus knew it. All the apostles and other believers in the New Testament knew it. Everyone, it seems, understood The priority of the Kingdom; everyone except us, that is. In recent years the focus in much of the Body of Christ has shifted away from the Kingdom of God to other issues. The tragic result is that multitudes of believers today know little about the Kingdom, and even fewer understand their place and rights as its citizens. Often, even in spite of all our sophistication, education, and technology, we of modern and “enlightened” democratic societies are worse off than the people of Old Testament times when it comes to matters of Understanding the Kingdom of God and how our world relates to it. Abandon your ignorance about the Kingdom of God and return to the King of kings.
